City of Afton Designated Historic Site

Built in 1876, the Afton Village School originally had a bell tower. Teaching ended here in 1903 when several grades moved down the street to the St. Croix Academy (see Afton Historical Museum school file for School District 24 and the display of Afton schools at the museum). Today it is privately owned and operates as a vacation rental and as an art gallery during city festivals.

See a full display of Afton village and township schools in the Afton Historical Museum.
